Jennifer Lawrence #2 on VH1's list of Celebrities who Dominated 2012

Jennifer Lawrence came in as number 2 on VH1's list. It's no surprise with how busy she's been this year! With her films The Hunger Games, House at the End of the Street, and Silver Lining's Playbook she's sure had a big year along with all of her award nominations!

Dominating Moment: As the Girl Who Was on Fire, Lawrence drew a whole lot more than teen girls to the theaters to watch her battle other kids to the death in The Hunger Games. The movie had the biggest ever opening weekend for March, and went on to rank as the third biggest movie of the year, behind behemoths The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. She also managed to follow that up with a little horror flick, House at the End of the Street, and a heartbreakingly funny role as the widow helping Bradley Cooper get his life back on track through ballroom dancing in Silver Linings Playbook, earning herself a Golden Globe nod.

Jennifer Lawrence on the cover of 'Marie Claire'

Jennifer looks beautiful in a silver dress on the cover of Marie Claire South Africa. This is the January 2013 issue.

Here is what she had to say:

On going out with friends: “I don’t like going out that much. I’m kind of an old lady. After it’s 11, I’m like ‘Don’t these kids ever get tired?’ When I’m out, I think about my couch.”
On her body: “I’d rather look chubby on screen and like a person in real life.”
On her New Year’s Resolution: “My New Year’s Resolution is to stand up for myself. It’s hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can’t do it. I have this ‘okay’ attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.”

The Hunger Games mentioned on MTv's Top Movie Characters of 2012

Three characters from the film were mentioned on the list, one of them being Katniss who came in number 2!

2. Katniss Everdeen ("The Hunger Games")
A much-needed antidote to the damsel-in-distress archetype, heroine Katniss Everdeen is a fierce fighter who doesn't think twice about taking her little sister's place in the film's titular death match — even though she has no delusions of surviving. But survive she does, putting her bow-and-arrow and cunning intellect to work, outwitting and outmanning her fellow tributes to emerge victor. A lesson to all you would-be dystopian dictators out there: never mess with the Girl on Fire — the odds will not be in your favor

Jennifer Lawrence reacts to Golden Globe nomination

Jennifer Lawrence, Silver Linings Playbook: "Wow. I'm so lucky, because the Hollywood Foreign Press have been so supportive of the work I've done thus far, now honoring with me with a second Golden Globe nomination. Silver Linings Playbook is such a beautiful film, and David O. Russell wrote and directed an incredible screenplay featuring characters that skew off center, have extreme ups and downs, and are so nuanced. I am grateful to be part of it, and for the opportunity to do this role. And now, to be in a category of other talents—Meryl StreepJudi DenchMaggie Smith and Emily Blunt—who have also portrayed independently minded and driven female characters….that's very cool. "

Jennifer Lawrence's interview with The Guardian

Here's some of the interview where she discusses Hunger Games and Silver Lining's Playbook:

The line's crackling. Where are you?
I'm filming in Hawaii. But right now I'm eating doughnuts. I've just been inundated with doughnuts; it's a perk of the job.
Moving on to other matters, Silver Linings Playbook has been named one of the Guardian's best films of the year.
Well, thank you, that's awesome. I'm a little taken aback. I should have prepared a speech. It's a project I'm proud of. The cast and the crew gave it their all, working late nights, 15-hour days, trying to get it right. It was made with passion, that's for sure.
Your role as Tiffany Maxwell gave you a chance to shout down Robert De Niro. There's not many actors who can make that boast.
Oh, that was nerve-racking. I had a habit of never looking at what scene we were doing next. But then the night before I looked ahead and thought: "Oh my God, I've got to act against De Niro." But it was fine. He's the nicest man in the world. He's actually very quiet. On set he keeps himself to himself and only pipes up when he has something proper to say. When he does pipe up, people listen.

Jennifer Lawrence in NYT 'Wide Awake' Short Film and list

Jennifer Lawrence is on the list for The New York Times 'Hollywood Heroines for 2012'. This list features actresses appearing in  a series of short films. Jennifer has appeared in one titled 'Wide Awake'. Check out the stunning video above.
Here is the photo of Jennifer featured on the list

Here is what they had to say:

2012 was, all in all, a pretty good year for movies and also a pretty good year for female heroism. In addition to “Snow White and the Huntsman,” there was “Brave,” whose flame-haired heroine, Merida, combined Disney-princess pluck with Pixar’s visual ingenuity; “The Hunger Games,” which drew on young-adult literature to find, in the resourceful person of Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence), a new archetype of survivalist girl power; and perhaps best of all, “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” in which a scrappy child of the Louisiana bayou named Hushpuppy (the amazing Quvenzhané Wallis) faced down hurricanes, monsters and the power of the state.

Jennifer Lawrence on THR'S Women in Entertainment 2012: Power 100 List

Jennifer Lawrence is number 50 on the list. Alongside her on the list are other great actresses such as Meryl Streep and Kristen Stewart!
This is what they had to say about Jennifer:

The 22-year-old Lawrence -- bursting on the scene two years ago with an Oscar nom for tiny indie drama Winter’s Bone -- can do more than open a movie or get one greenlighted: She can command an enviable $10 million salary for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which hits theaters in November 2013. In March, the first Hunger Games sealed her fate when it opened to $152.2 million, the fifth-best debut of all time, and ultimately grossed $686.5 million worldwide (she got paid a mere $500,000 for that film). And if her good fortune continues, she could soon end up collecting an Oscar nom for Silver Linings Playbook, a critical darling.
