About
Full Name: Jennifer Shrader Lawrence
Born: August 15, 1990 in Louisville, KY
Height: 5'8"
Her first major role was a lead cast member on TBS's The Bill Engvall Show (2007-2009) and she subsequently appeared in the independent films The Burning Plain (2008) and Winter's Bone (2010), for which she received nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award, Independent Spirit Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress.
At age 20, she was the third-youngest actress ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
At age 22, her performance in the romantic comedy Silver Lining's Playbook (2012) earned her the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Satellite Award, and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress.
She is also known for her roles in the hit films 'The Hunger Games' for her role as Katniss Everdeen and 'X-Men: First Class' for her role as Raven Darkholme/Mystique.
The list of her movie roles omits several that I think are important supporting roles. Probably the most difficult for her was The Poker House, because of the subject matter. (Which is also why it is left off of most lists.) To me it is the most dramatic role she has ever had. In The Beaver with Mel Gibson she played a completely different character and to perfection. All of her filmography is given on IMDB and I have tried to watch all of them, but some are hard to locate. "Catching Fire" opened here on my 81st birthday and I gave myself a visit to the theater as a present.
